Konjac Translate translates on your iPhone and keeps your conversations and cards there. The free version shows ads; this policy explains what that means for your data.

What we collect

We do not run any server and do not collect, store or share personal data ourselves. There is no account and no sign-in. The only data that leaves your iPhone is what the ad service described below receives in the free version.

Translation, speech recognition and speech happen on your device

Text translation uses Apple’s on-device translation models. Speech recognition and text-to-speech run on your iPhone. What you say and type is not sent to us or to any server. The internet is used only when you choose to download a language from Apple.

Microphone

The microphone is used only while you speak a turn in a conversation. Audio is processed on the device and is never saved.

History and cards

Your history, favorites and custom cards are stored only on your iPhone. They are not uploaded anywhere and are deleted when you delete the app.

Purchases

Purchases and subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment information.

Ads in the free version

The free version shows banner ads from Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google may receive your device's advertising identifier (only if you allow tracking when iOS asks), an IP address and the coarse location it implies, information about your device, and how you interact with the ads. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland you are asked for consent first and can change it any time under Settings › Ad Privacy Choices. What you say, type or translate is never sent to Google or used for ads. Google's use of this data is described at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

Tracking choice

iOS asks whether Konjac Translate may track you. If you allow it, ads can be more relevant to you; if you don't, you still get the full app with non-personalised ads. You can change this any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.

Pro has no ads

With Pro (weekly, monthly or lifetime) no ads are shown and the ad service is not contacted.

Children

Konjac Translate is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date.
